Weekend (Saturday or Sunday) Animal Care Assistant:

We are looking for dynamic, motivated individuals with fantastic people skills to work one day a week at the weekends. You should have a natural sense of enthusiasm and the ability to impart this to our visitors. Our farm park attracts a wide variety of people, including families, school and interest groups and parties, and we ensure that everybody has a memorable experience. Shifts are approx. 6 hours.

Job Description

Requirements:

  • Outgoing, friendly personality with a strong understanding of good customer service.
  • Working knowledge of animal care (both large and small animals)
  • Used to working with groups
  • Be a part of creating a positive visitor experience
  • Understanding of Health and Safety in the workplace, and an ability to put this into practice.
  • Team Player
  • Adaptable and flexible attitude to working

Key Responsibilities:

  • Basic animal husbandry and welfare
  • Ensuring health and safety standards are maintained
  • Participation in public animal activity sessions
  • Ensuring a good customer experience
  • Participation in farm park/pen maintenance and cleaning

You will need:

  • Two current referees
  • UK citizenship or valid visa to work in UK
  • Own transport essential

We are a visitor attraction, so our busy times tend to be when other people have their leisure time, therefore, you will need to be able to work weekends and bank holidays.

Successful candidates will be invited to interview, and will be expected to give a short presentation as part of this.

Experienced chef/cook

To provide assistance to the Catering Manager in the preparation and production of meals for the restaurant/cafe and Farm Shop.To be responsible alongside the Catering Manager for full service in the restaurant/cafe.

Job Description: All aspects of food preparation and service (Breakfasts, Lunches, Afternoon teas)
Liaise with Farm Shop staff for stock replenishment
Take full responsibility for the running of the kitchen in the absence of the catering manager
Participate in opening/closing procedures for the restaurant and kitchen
Participate in all aspects of kitchen cleaning

Person Specification:
Minimum of 2 years cooking experience within a busy kitchen environment

Food Hygiene Certificate desirable

Good customer service skills with adults/children (open kitchen so will involve some friendly interaction with our visitors!)
Team worker
Smart appearance
Good communicator
Work on own initiative
Flexible working
Adaptable
Literacy and numeracy skills
Car owner/driver essential
UK citizenship or valid visa to work in UK
This is a full or part-time position working on a flexible rota. Because of the nature of the business, you will be expected to be available for work both weekends and bank holidays.

Waiter or Waitress/Kitchen Assistant at Spring Barn Farm: One weekend day per week (with more work during school holidays).

Could suit someone at college/sixth form.

Spring Barn Farm Park is a growing family business on the outskirts of Lewes East Sussex.
We offer our visitors a Farm Shop, Farmhouse Kitchen Restaurant, Function Room, Campsite and children’s farm attraction. We are looking to recruit a waiter or waitress/kitchen assistant for a weekend position.

Duties:
Serving customers
Preparing drinks and serving cakes
Restocking
Participating in all opening and closing duties for the restaurant and kitchen
Washing up and cleaning

You will :
Demonstrate excellent customer service
Be a self-motivated team worker and good communicator
Have high standard of hygiene
Experience using EPOS tills an advantage
Waiting experience desirable but not essential
Be able to work under pressure using your own initiative and be adaptable
Have good literacy/numeracy skills

Essential:
Two current referees
UK citizenship or valid visa to work in UK
