CHEF/COOK

Purpose:

To provide assistance to the Head Chef in the preparation and production of meals for the restaurant/cafe and Farm Shop.

To provide cover in the absence of the Head Chef for full service in the restaurant/cafe and Farm Shop.

Job Description:

  • Prepare and cook vegetables
  • Prepare and cook restaurant meals
  • Prepare and cook desserts and cakes
  • Prepare and cook food for the Farm Shop
  • Liaise with Farm Shop staff for stock replenishment
  • Provide full service in the absence of the Head Chef
  • Participate in opening/closing procedures for the restaurant
  • Participate in all aspects of kitchen cleaning

Person Specification:

  • Food Hygiene Certificate desirable
  • Good customer service skills with adults/children

EXPERIENCED PART TIME ADMINISTRATOR

This position has great potential for someone wishing to work in a close knit team in a growing business and could suit a retired person.

We are looking for an office administrator with a proven track record. The ideal candidate will be able to implement their own filing systems and maintain an organised office. As the first point of call for many of our enquiries, you must have the ability to sell the offer that is Spring Barn Farm and be able to give excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining an effective filing system
  • Taking bookings for educational visits, parties and camping
  • Organising invoices
  • Updating online listings seasonally
  • Updating our customer database
  • Dealing with enquiries
  • E mail and letter correspondence
  • Dealing with the post
  • General office support across the business
  • Updating HR records and maintaining appraisal calendar

You will:

  • Have extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel. We also have bespoke computer programmes (training given)
  • Have first class communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills with adults and children, ensuring a good customer experience
  • Be a highly organised team player
  • Reliable and flexible
  • Self-motivating and adaptable
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

You will have

  • Two current referees
  • UK citizenship or Valid visa to work in UK
  • Own transport

Salary dependent on experience and qualifications.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
We aim to ensure all guests receive the best service in all areas of the farm whilst made to feel welcome. During weekends and school holidays the Farm can get very busy where the quality of customer service, attention to detail, providing quality catering and ensuring the health and hygiene at the farm is paramount. Our staff are required to be energetic, enthusiastic, responsible, trustworthy, hardworking and reliable.
Roles vary on a day to day basis with each member of the team having their own responsibilities depending on the areas you are trained in.
Responsibilities can include:
Admissions Gate
Farm Shop
Play Barn
Coffee Shop and other catering outlets
Seasonal Attractions
Cleaning
Toilet Checks
Seasonal Displays
Other duties also include cleaning, litter picking etc
Experience
No experience is required but we ask you to be enthusiastic and willing to learn.

Rates of Pay:
16yr £5
17yr: £5.50
18yr+: £5.75
21yr+: £6.50:
Subject to change in line with government guidelines.
